Meet Sherry

My name is Sherry Scott, and I am a doctoral-level psychology extern under the supervision of Dr. Dan Isenberg, Licensed Psychologist. I am enthusiastically completing my education to become a licensed psychologist. Prior to beginning my doctorate degree, I was a school counselor for many years. As a school counselor, I witnessed first-hand the dire need for additional mental health providers in the community. I decided to enhance my education and expand my understanding of working with individuals throughout the lifespan through obtaining an additional degree to become a Doctor of Psychology.

My personal goal has always been to provide culturally sensitive, client centered, warm, evidenced-based psychotherapy to every client I support. I take pride in my inquisitive nature, as it affords me the genuine interest to seek to understand the lived experience of each of my clients. Psychodynamic theory and multicultural sensitivity drive my approach while an integration of a cognitive behavioral and acceptance and commitment techniques allow me to provide unique, person centered, therapeutic interventions.

I have clinical experience supporting the goals of at risk-youth; children with social-emotional and developmental disabilities; as well as children and adults processing grief, life transitions, trauma, depression, anxiety and obsessive compulsions. I look forward to the opportunity to assist new clients with processing and overcoming their unique challenges.

My Mission

To provide culturally sensitive, client-centered, evidence-based psychotherapy.

My Theoretical Approach

Experiencing the attentive care of a professional who is deeply attuned to your concerns is truly unique. By combining this focused attention with techniques that help you explore your thoughts, behaviors, and feelings, while considering your past experiences, we can collaboratively identify a plan to cope with and process whatever you are encountering.

I offer an integrative approach to therapy grounded in psychodynamic and humanistic theories. By utilizing tools and techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I provide a therapeutic experience that is individualized and tailored to your unique goals.
